The German World War II commander General Erwin Rommel known as the Desert Fox is famous. He was given his nickname for the smart ways he fought in the North African campaign. Rommel knew his tanks warfare but he did not limited to just one type of tanks. So he took the best suited vehicles for each situation.

Rommel had a good deal of cleverness When he captured a British AEC armored command vehicle. With this vehicle Rommel was able to maintain a mobile headquarters that came with the tools of communication and mapping.

In fact Rommel was nicknamed The Desert Fox becoming well known for leading his men from the front lines often with the Panzer III the standard German tank. He also employed the much smaller quicker Sd Kfz. 250 for scouting and to operate fast across the battle field.

Rommel ran a hands on leadership keeping at the action to make decisions fast. How he changed tanks in warfare today with his quick thinking and use of flexible strategies.

Rommel was not famous for one signature tank or even one signature vehicle his victories were down to the clever use of different vehicles and his outstanding command ability.
