You go out for a nice dinner with your friends at one of the best restaurants in the city. You have enough budget to savor anything you want.
Being a sensible man, you order a soup, main course and a dessert. Your tummy is full now but you still have budget to eat more but being the wise man you are, you do not order more.
Overeating is not advisable.
The F-16 is a supersonic multi role fighter. It is primarily an all weather aircraft. The US Air Force has however stopped purchasing it from the manufacturers, Lockheed Martin.
So, for starters, there are better options available in the market.
Secondly, India already has an aircraft for the same role, Sukhoi 30 and it has been purchased in huge numbers to form the backbone of the IAF.
So, why would we want an outdated aircraft and secondly why would we want to replace an already successful fleet which is performing the same role?
Sukhoi-30 upgrades are also equipped with better avionics as compared to a Pakistani F-16.
Even the Payload and range capabilities are much better of a Sukhoi 30.
So, when you already have what you want in your budget, isn’t it wise to not overspend?
Overspending and overeating are never advisable in life anyways.
